Self-promotion can be a tricky thing. Especially if you're a trumpet player.
You've worked hard. You sound amazing.
Now it's time to get some gigs. Maybe even make some money.
But first, you have to meet the people who can hire you... and you have to actually impress them.
Seems simple enough...
But I see a lot of trumpet players get stuck in the mud before they've even gotten started.
Especially when well-meaning players and teachers give bad advice that makes it seem like self-promotion is tacky or pushy.
No wonder so many trumpet players sit around waiting for the phone to ring!
I know. I know... you're not literally sitting by the phone like a high school girl waiting for a prom date...
But chances are you're holding back, because you don't want to rub people the wrong way.
Sometimes people act as if "self-promotion" is a dirty word.
If you want to play trumpet in public (and get paid to do it) promoting yourself needs to be part of your routine. Long tones, lip slurs, jazz scales... self promotion.
Luckily, there are some simple steps that you can take to get open the doors to more playing oportunities.
And I've laid them all out for you in my new e-book, Tooting Your own Horn! (How to Promote Yourself as a Trumpet Player Without Being an Obnoxious Blowhard).
If you're ready to make a living with your music, this book is for you!
It's packed with dozens of proven ways to promote yourself as a trumpeter.
And no - you won't come off as pushy, sleazy or salesy.
Instead, you'll create an online presence that will help people find you when they're ready to hire a player. Your name will be handy when someone is passing on a referral. People will seek you out, because of your reputation as a player and as a person.
Even if you only have time to act on one or two of the tips in this book, you'll see a difference.
You'll start to get calls, your calendar will fill up, and you'll earn more money doing what you love.
Tooting Your Own Horn! (How to Promote Yourself as a Trumpet Player without Being an Obnoxious Blowhard) will be released on February 1st, 2018.
This e-book will cost $29.99. But you pay only a fraction of that price when you pre-order.
This is the book that I wish I had when I first got started.
